The thing with domains is that all really good and expensive domains like one word domains have been "invented" but there's still plenty of money in domain real estate and still some good catches are still available. Most expensive domains are .com of course but good money can be made with .net .info .tv .eu... etc.
Check out some forums and other places where domains are bought and sold. Take you time, read posts and don't be afraid to ask questions, if you choose to enter domain market business inside information is crucial. Don't go mad spending money on domains only because they sound good to you - keep that credit card locked.
